Their incisors allow them to cut through concrete, metal, and wood. Rats can chew down with a force of up to 12,000 pounds per square inch! That's like a power move from the tooth department. This is why rodents have gained the reputation of being destructive pests.

Rats are fantastic problem solvers; they can solve puzzles fast, find their way through complex mazes with spatial awareness, and even play video games!

Rats can interpret human-like communication cues; they can even recognize their names and obey orders. The close links they make within their societies, exhibiting empathy and cooperative actions, are clear indicators of their social intelligence. Rats have an intricate system of body language, scent marking, and vocalizations for communication that helps them survive in various habitats.

Every city in the world budgets millions on rodent control!!!
New York implemented a 'sterilization' program using contraceptive chemicals in allocated feeding stations.
Cape Town offered unemployed/homeless persons a small fee for every trapped rat they brought in. The animals were then designated for 'drowning' which the SPCA ruled inhumane so that program was stopped.

In truth, integrated pest management is the only way to keep on top of a rodent problem.

As you can imagine, anyone in the food manufacturing/preparation or serving industry (restaurants) has to contend with flies a LOT. Integrated pest management is essential. 'Clean' garbage disposal is paramount: bins must be cleaned regularly!
Discouraging flies is also essential. Flies rely on their sense of smell to find food sources - so air movement created by fans is helpful.
The constantly moving air confuses flies, who prefer to fly in still air. Citronella candles, while more commonly used to deter mosquitos, can effectively keep common flies at bay as well, especially when used in small spaces.

Use Essential Oils
Using a similar school of thought as cleaning with Pine Gel, you can use certain essential oils to get rid of houseflies. Scents that they’re particularly opposed to are the strong, pungent odors, like clove, lavender, mint, lemongrass, eucalyptus, rosemary and citronella. Apply a few drops of these oils to strips of cloth to make DIY fly paper, or spray decks, patios and window sills to keep flies away from the periphery of your property.

HOW TO DEAL WITH FLIES!🪰🪰🪰

Flies don’t have noses. Instead, they smell with their antenna. Each antenna is covered with tiny hairs called sensilla. Each sensilla contains a few neurons— a fly's mini 'brain'. Each neuron has an odor receptor - and AMMONIA is the odor flies are most sensitive to!

Rotting meat and vegetable matter gives off an 'ammonia' scent. Human sweat does too - which is why flies find you after a hard workout session. Flies can pick up this ammonia smell from several kilometers away.

Use Fly Traps
Fly traps can work amazingly well for outdoor fly infestations. Most fly traps use a liquid or powder made from putrescent—or rotten eggs, a horrible odor that’s incredibly off-putting for humans but a delicacy for flies. Fly traps are capable of catching and trapping thousands of flies at a time, and should be switched out when they get full. For severe infestations, consider using several fly traps at once along the perimeter of your property. They’re best used far away from your home so you don’t inadvertently attract flies to your property, but rather intersect them before they start zooming around your garden, patio or pool area.

Birdbaths and bird houses are an obvious way to bring more birds to your property. Look for bird feeders that are 'cat-safe' - that is, your favorite fur-ball is not going to jump up and help himself to his own open buffet🙀🐦🐦
