“I Got Ants in My Pants (and I Want to Dance)” is a funk song by James Brown. Recorded in 1971 and released as a two-part single in November 1972 or January 1973, it charted #4 R&B and #27 Pop. It did not receive an album release. A remixed version was included on the 1988 compilation album Motherlode, Part 1 to Star Time and the whole cut again in Make It Funky: The Big Payback.
Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me – American minstrel song
Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me or Shew! fly, don’t bother me is a minstrel show song from the 1860s that has remained popular since that time. It was sung by soldiers during the SpanishโAmerican War of 1898, when flies and the yellow fever mosquito were a serious enemy. Bing Crosby included the song in a medley on his album Join Bing and Sing Along (1959). Today, it is commonly sung by children, and has been recorded on many children’s records.
Butterfly Kisses – Bob Carlisle
“Butterfly Kisses” is a song written by Bob Carlisle and Randy Thomas from Carlisle’s third studio album Butterfly Kisses (Shades of Grace). The song was written for Carlisle’s daughter Brooke’s 16th birthday. Carlisle also wrote a journal, Butterfly Kisses for Fathers and Their Daughters. The last track of the Butterfly Kisses (Shades Of Grace) is a country remix of the song, where instruments like the Pedal Steel Guitar and Fiddle are added as instruments.
